THE WINDOW (France)
Carmel Loanga, directed the short film using her method CHARACTER PERFORMANCE and CHOREOGRAPHY which she developed to guide dancers in opening their own "window" , a doorway to memories, roots, questions and dreams for the future.A window as a threshold between the inside and the outside, between what we hide and what we choose to reveal.
Each dancer brings a different story, a different rhythm, a different cultural background. Yet, when they stand before the window, something unites them: the need to express who they are. Identity is not something we construct, it is something that lives within us. Opening that window means acknowledging where we come from, allowing the world to see a glimpse of our inner landscape.

CORRALLING OF CIRCLES (China)
This short film is a far cry of the impulses to escape from a suffocating but all-too-familiar setting, which erodes our souls. The circular shapes, repetitive tasks, swirling movements seem to carry the lady into a sinking hole. Can she finally break free and find her way out?

UNTIL (Iran)
"Until..." is a single-take video, captured using only the switch between the front and back cameras of an iPhone by the performers, and filmed during the 2022 "Woman Life Freedom" protests in Tehran, Iran. The video not only presents a highly intricate choreography for the camera, infused with the originality and urgency of what is deemed 'possible' in that specific situation, but also encapsulates the essence of unity, resilience, and purposefulness demonstrated by young artists responding creatively and courageously to an actual brutal situation in Iran.

IN FLUORESCENCE (USA)
A collaboration involving music, dance, and animation.
Dane performed several takes of original choreography to accompany Woodlin’s original music. The animation was created by both of us over a few weeks in a rapid-fire sequence of improvisational analog rotoscope experiments using mainly fluorescent drawing materials on old found papers and notecards. Most of the piece is a layering of our individual hand-drawn sequences side by side.

NEW BORN OLD FAITH (Nigeria)
New Born, Old Faith is a story of transition, the evolution of my spirit from rebellion to self-determination. My career in dance started out in church where dreadlocks were not allowed on stage. I allowed strangers to cut my hair, an act that I resented and carried into adulthood. As I grew, I built my identity into my hair, it took me many years and a lot of struggle to build those heavy locks. To forgive the struggle and release the bitterness, I had to return to the beginning…. To a place of trust and purity, back to the unconditional love that first shaped me. I had to allow the people who brought me into this world to cut my hair so I could be free again, so I could return to the flow I was always meant to be in.

THE BATHERS (France)
In Marseille, at the end of August, four bathers refuse to let summer end. From their bathing spot, they dance to stretch the season and claim the right to decide freely over their bodies and their time. What begins as a gentle, contemplative moment by the Mediterranean Sea gradually builds into a powerful Dancehall performance, a sun-drenched revolt against the demands that dictate our lives. Channeling the spirit of the Dancehall Queens, the bathers reclaim their image, their sensuality, and their freedom through dance.

THE STORY OF A MUSHROOM (China)
The Story of a Mushroom is an experimental dance film centred on bodily narrative. Through surreal visual language and allegorical structure, it explores contemporary women's identity crises, self-alienation and spiritual predicaments within a globalised context.
This work constitutes not merely a visual experiment exploring ‘the body as a narrative medium,’ but also an attempt to engage with contemporary global issues concerning female autonomy, mental well-being, and identity liberation. Through its poetic visual language, it seeks to awaken viewers to the imperative of safeguarding authentic selves and the integrity of humanity.

CE QUI NOUS LIE (France)
What if, within the breath of one body, the echo of another was already resonating? In a vital surge where every movement becomes a cry, nine dancers unveil their inner struggle across shifting landscapes: sea, cliff, city, dance studio, ancient theatre. Nine singular territories. Each surrenders to raw improvisation - a moment of questioning rooted in their intimate space — where movement becomes the language of urgency: to be, to resist, to exist. Bodies answer, intertwine, and merge in an organic continuity, weaving bridges between their solitary battles. Living echoes of an invisible geometry, uniting bodies beyond forms and boundaries.
What if what seemed isolated was already part of a vaster, elusive movement?

VAMOS NINA (Germany)
“Vamos, Nina” is a music video born from a collaboration between tango singer María Graña and Lucio Vidal, as part of the ongoing project Fetish Ballerina. The work offers a visual interpretation of Astor Piazzolla’s iconic tango, transforming the composition into a singular artistic experience through Lucio’s expressive language.
In this piece, Lucio divides the central figure into two presences, creating a duality that unfolds throughout the narrative. These mirrored identities interact, overlap, and gradually merge, opening space for multiple readings of the story. This fragmentation reflects inner processes of transformation and reconciliation.
The project evokes themes of inner strength and love as essential forces in the search for self-awareness. It invites viewers to engage with their own interpretations, suggesting that meaning emerges from within. Through the fusion of music, movement, and image, the work creates a poetic and emotionally resonant universe.Directed & Performed by: Lucio Vidal
